Jane Shaw Dewey

Jane began her career as a pediatric occupational therapist and practiced for over 40 years. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy and worked in a variety of adult and pediatric settings. Jane’s primary focus included providing direct therapy services and consultative services in pediatrics for hospitals, public and private schools, day care centers, rehabilitation centers, community centers, and private practice.

Jane received many awards and held several positions in local and state Occupational Therapy groups. In addition to her work as an occupational therapist Jane was a member of several council and advisory committees related to inclusion and disability issues including 5 years as Parent Team Member of the Georgia Department of Education, Division of Exceptional Students, Focused Monitoring Team.

After retiring from Occupational Therapy, Jane began a part time job in marketing for a local real estate team located in Tucker, Georgia. Jane and her husband have lived in the Smoke Rise area since 1986 and together raised four adult children.

Jane and her husband Brian co-own and manage Twin Magnolia Investments, LLC, which invests in homes for adults with developmental disabilities. Their son Evan lives in one of the homes in the Tucker area, along with his roommates.

Jane and Brian travel regularly to see their three grandchildren in Texas. In her free time, Jane enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, oil painting, playing tennis, and reading.
